The Bologna Children's Bookfair is the world's leading event for children's publishing professionals. In order to promote its members, the association of the Polish Illustrators decided to create a collective portfolio. They asked graphic designer Lech Majewski to design it.
I was very happy to take part to this project. I started by scanning the original illustrations. Then I had to control the colors of the digital files (vs. the real illustrations values), with the help of a pre-press studio equipment. Once this color correction step was over, we started with Lech Majewski to design the page layout and to discuss the global rhythm of the book. Then Lech had a great idea for the cover design: showing only a part of a illustration in order to create curiosity for the content of the book.
Eventually, this book won the Best book award 2002 at the Warsaw International Book Fair.
